Webinar
Children who survive a traumatic brain injury (TBI) have an entire life ahead of them.  Those in the public school age range have years of public education and, possibly, postsecondary training in their future.  Passage of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA; P.L. 106-476) has increased awareness of TBI and has allowed students greater access to appropriate educational services.  However, approaches to the transition from hospital to school have not yet been fully standardized (Bigler et al., 1997).  This webinar will discuss the role of school-based SLPs in the treatment and assessment of TBI as well as the importance of collaboration with other professionals when working with this population.

After completing this course, participants will be able to identify types of TBI and the sequelae associated with TBI, discuss assessment and outcome issues associated with pediatric TBI, discuss intervention procedures for pediatric TBI.

Webinar fee is $25.

More information and login procedures will be provided to participants after registration.
