SHAV LEAD SLP Group Lead

Uma Chaudhary, SLPD, CCC-SLP, is a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist with over 25 years of experience in various settings across the United States, including DoDEA and Military Base Schools. Her role as a Communication Disorders Supervisor for Fairfax County Public Schools encompasses new SLP onboarding, professional development delivery, and professional guidance with oversight of a team of SLPs/SLPAs. Dr. Chaudhary specializes in working with military families as well as students with varying cultural-linguistic backgrounds. She has extensive experience with students with Autism, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) as well as Vocational and Daily Living Skills Training. She has held licenses in Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey, and currently holds a Virginia License. Her expertise is in students ages preschool through 22.

Dr. Chaudhary’s academic journey reflects her commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence. She holds a Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University, her Master's degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas, and her Doctorate from Northwestern University. She has furthered her expertise by earning a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard's Derek Bok Teaching and Learning Center.
